9 Gifts for Your Anxious Friends

Happy December, friends!  We’ve made it through Thanksgiving and now it’s just one (busy AF) landslide into Christmas.  Thanksgiving was particularly late this year, so I’m feeling all sorts of stress and pressure to pick up the speed on my holiday shopping.  I love perusing gift guides for ideas and I decided that I wanted in on the fun! This isn’t just any gift guide though, this is a special thoughtful gift guide for the anxiety sufferers in your life.  And of course, I had to be on brand and have a little fun while doing it too...

Best Gifts for Your Anxious Friends & Pals

Ear Seeds:

You’re probably like, what the?!  Hear me out. I was first introduced to these little gems by my acupuncturist.  After a session, she would apply them to pressure points in my ears so that I could continue to enjoy the pleasurable side effects from acu based on my ailments (ahem, anxiety).  These bad boys are subtle and can stay on for weeks! This set by Vie are all fancy in gold and come with a pressure point map, because we can’t all be acupuncturists.

Jonathan Adler Brass Pill Box:

If the anxiety sufferer in your life is anything like me, having an emergency anti-anxiety pill on you at all times is a must.  For me, just knowing they are with me gives me a sense of calm, even if I don’t need them. If you’re going to carry something with you all the time, you might as well put it in a cute, cheeky box.

Equilibria CBD Relief Cream:

Not only is this a gloriously thick salve that provides intense moisture, it also includes the goodness of CBD to hit those aches and pains, and relieve them immediately.  Good chance your anxiety sufferer has some of those said aches and pains, or just general muscle stiffness from carrying around stress. This particular formula includes menthol and lavender for almost immediate relief and relaxation.  Equilibria also offers free CBD dosage consultations for any skeptics out there.

Bearaby Knitted Weighted Blanket:

Weighted blanket, but make it fashion.  I’ll admit, I’m a bit skeptical on the weighted blanket, but every other anxiety sufferer I know out there raves (so I should probably try it).  This one is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it comes in three different weights to find the right relaxation for you.

Virtruvi Essential Oil Diffuser:

Love me some essential oils, particularly when I’m stressed or feeling under the weather.  There are many oils, such as lavender that have wonderful relaxation effects. I like to run my diffuser while I sleep to take in a full 8 hours of goodness. And this particular diffuser isn’t a total eyesore while living on your nightstand.

10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Actually Works--A True Story:

Skeptical on meditation and mindfulness?  Dan Harris was too! I love this book because it documents his journey from on-air panic attack to becoming a believer in all things mindfulness, learning how to do it, and discovering why it actually works.

Soothe Giftcard:

Oh boy do the anxious love some “me” time and some alone time.  Also, sometimes when your anxiety is bad, it’s a real bitch to leave the house and relaxing at home is ideal.  That’s why I love Soothe. They are in 66 cities and have on-demand licensed, professionals that will bring the massage to you.  I felt a little weird about it the first time, but the therapists are all incredibly professional. In fact, I’ve moved on to a texting basis with mine!

Aesop Ginger Flight Therapy:

Back to essential oils!  I love this roller because it’s easy to carry and has a great rollerball applicator.  One side effect of anxiety is nauseousness and ginger is great at combating it. This also includes other oils for a blend that is amazingly relaxing.

The Five-Minute Journal:

Journaling is great, but sometimes it’s just really hard to get motivated to start writing. But, I’ve found that if I spend some time journaling, primarily gratitude journaling, I am able to act in an infinitely more positive manner in my day-to-day.  This journal by Intelligent Change is great because it guides you through a list of questions you can answer rather than brainstorming on your own.

You have some bonus points coming from your anxious friends.  Happy Shopping!
